They are Already Here! You're Next -- !

Kevin McCarthy
1914-2010

Died, actor Kevin McCarthy, age 96. In hundreds of movies and TV shows, McCarthy worked right up until the end, and while he was in many movies you are apt to recall if you are an SF or horror fan, including The Howling, The Twilight Zone Movie, and much of everything on the tube from the 1950's to now, what he'll be most remembered for is his turn as a small town doctor in the original 1956 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Did a cameo in one of the remakes, too, of which there have been three.

Scary movie when I first saw it, and supposedly an allegory for the scourge of Communism, this one was ranked as one of the top ten science fiction pictures ever.

Adíos, Kevin.

Once in a while, I'd like to find out that someone who was in a really cool sci fi movie or TV show from long ago is still alive, rather than finding out they just died. I could, you know, send them a letter thanking them for their work or something.

By the way, Steve, thanks for the Matadors.
